Famed worldwide as a high-end jewelry company who also makes most elaborate watches, Van Cleef & Arpels have teamed up with a Dutch watchmaker named Christiaan van der Klaauw for their latest time piece, the Midnight Planétarium Poetic Complication.

Midnight Planetarium Poetic Complication watch has six rotating disks, each bearing a tiny sphere representing one of the six planets visible with the naked eye. The disks rotate at different speeds so that each sphere makes one revolution around the dial in the time it takes the actual planet it represents (Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) to orbit the sun.

The watch features pink gold, quartz crystal, and other precious and semi-precious stones. The total design has 396 components with an automatic RD821 base movement from Roger Dubuis. The watch is expected to fetch $258,000 for each piece.
